It took great restraint on my part not to make that joke in the main review.
I am not telling you to read this book for the jokes. They are few, and usually racist. I am telling you that why I found the jokes interesting is that sort of continuity of burlesque humor. Whiteness is of recent vintage but a lot of the jokes here are gags where analogs exist from the earliest records of time. Who is made fun of is all jumbled about, but it is there. And I guess that I really like that, the feeling of a sense of continuity.
I am, however, joking about the one racist fan. I do not have any fans.
